Mike Bell

After teaching and lecturing in Art and Design for 30 years Mike took early retirement 13 years ago to concentrate on his painting.

Since then he has exhibited in many galleries both nationally and internationally and is currently exhibiting work at ’The Biscuit Factory’ in Newcastle.

Mike’s work is mainly mixed media, using many materials to create a strong textured surface on the canvas. His inspirations mainly come from the wild Northumbrian coast where he lived for 25 years and now from the wild Borders region of hills, lakes, dales & wild moorland. Mike says “The Land of Far Horizons” Northumberland, has light which enhances the tactile quality of the landscape no matter what the season.He has also exhibited internationally at the Artrom Gallery in Rome, Marziart Gallerie Hamburg & Art Domain Gallery Leipzig Germany where he won the Palm Art Award 2006.

Mike is a member of LAI, IATTDA, The Artrom Gallery Guild Of Artists & Designers in Rome & Artist Universal based in Helsinki.

He has a wide variety of corporate clients including: Wetherspoons Hotel chain, a large Hotel/Water park project in The Cotswolds & recently By Allen Lane Ltd for the Boardroom of their London Offices.
