Sue Denim

Sue Denim was born in Yorkshire but spent her formative years in Canada. She returned to the UK years ago and presently lives and works in her studio in coastal Kent. In 2010, after a varied career within the media, commercial art and business, Sue decided to dedicate herself full time to painting.

Sue’s work explores the “quiet moments” in life – the tension within relationships and the unspoken word. It is the look in the eye and the gesture of the hand – the humorous side and sometimes, the underlying sadness. The paintings display the human condition and explore the emotional fall-out underlying some relationships.

In 2007 Sue was re-united with her daughter, who had been adopted at birth. The overwhelming awakening of maternal love and subsequent on-going relationship has had a strong influence on her current work.

Sue’s original paintings are created using acrylic paint on paper, card or canvas. Many of Sue’s works have been reproduced as limited edition prints.
